As part of a joint venture (RTC) with SAET S.p.A. of Selvazzano Dentro (Padua), under an EPC contract, our company designed, built, tested and commissioned two 230/33 kV AIS (Air-Insulated Switchgear) electrical substations serving the new BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) plants for the client Enel Green Power.
The Portoscuso substation was interconnected with the Sulcis substation through a 1,600 mm² high-voltage cable, laid partly in open trench and partly by Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) carried out within the Sulcis power plant.
For both substations, the works performed can be summarized as follows:
- a two-level switchgear building, one level housing the cable basement, with a clear height of 1.80 m and a floor area of approximately 300 m²;
- transformer foundations complete with fire walls;
- foundations for all electromechanical equipment (current and voltage transformers, disconnectors, circuit breakers, busbar supports and similar);
- rainwater drainage and dewatering system;
- cable trenches and duct banks;
- site grading and landscaping.
